This is Part 2 of our Impulse Control Bootcamp, which is a continuation from the January event.

Help your dog learn to pause, think, and make better choices, even around their biggest distractions.

This clinic offers a well-rounded deep dive into impulse control and how it shows up in everyday life. We will zoom out to understand the bigger picture, then zoom in on practical skills you can use right away.

April's Activity: Painting Pottery at Glazed Expressions

Join us for a creative and social April Town Hall as we gather for pottery painting at Glazed Expressions during their open studio hours! This will be a relaxed, come-and-go style event designed for members to connect, chat, and create together.

Participants will be responsible for the cost of their piece. There is an $8 studio session fee, and you’ll be able to choose your own pottery piece, with options typically ranging from $18–$35.

We’ll be attending during open studio hours, feel free to invite friends and family to join the fun.

Curious about communicating with your pup through buttons?

In this educational session, Katie will introduce what communication buttons are, how they work, and how they’re being used with dogs. She’ll cover how to get started, what foundational skills are important before beginning, and practical tips to set you and your dog up for success.

Distance: 2 miles

Locations details: Mix of gravel, paved, and dirt trail. Meet in the first parking lot that has the boat ramp.

Clive Greenbelt Trail via Colby Park

Distance: 2-3 miles depending on participant preference

Locations details: Meet at Colby Park to walk the Greenbelt Trail which is fully paved

Current & Upcoming Virtual Challenges

 

Join us in virtual challenges where you can participate from the comfort of your home and even earn titles. 

While these challenges have "Official" start dates, you can join anytime! We will be breaking down bigger goals or titles into manageable chucks. Utilize these start dates as guides to keep you accountable, if needed.

To join a challenge, please visit the "Challenge" tab on the navigation bar in the Virtual Community. This is available via the app and on a computer. 

Foundational Parkour Challenge

Challenge opens February 9th 

Parkour, also known as Urban agility, is a sport that helps build confidence while being low impact. Participate in 7 weeks worth of challenges to be eligible to earn your pup's Training Level Title from the International Dog Parkour Association. These initial skills in the Training Level Title will be built on to complete future parkour titles. To earn your title, you and your pup will need to work and film 7 skills. Each week pick a different skill to work on.

 

AKC Trick Dog Challenge 

Challenges opens March 9th

Master one trick per week from the list of tricks. After completing 10 tricks, email [email protected] to have an AKC Evaluator evaluate your video submissions to earn your title!
