What is Dog Daycare?Doggie daycare offers a healthy outlet for dogs’ natural energies, instincts and behavior. Our daycare is much more than a playgroup. At Canine Craze Performance Center, dogs have the opportunity to socialize together; run, wrestle, chase, play hide and seek, snuggle up together, or simply hang out with their friends. Also we have a unique and personalized training program for all of our daycare dogs to help them learn impulse control and basic manners. LEARN ABOUT OUR “BACK TO SCHOOL CHALLENGE” While continuously supervised by Canine Craze staff; dogs learn to manage themselves in a high-activity environment, get along in group interactions, adjust to different play styles, and respond to various adult caregivers. All dogs have the opportunity for training time, playtime, and nap time. Daycare is for dogs of all sizes! We have designated play areas specifically designed to allow dogs of similar size and activity level an opportunity to play together. Is Daycare For Me & My Dog?Our typical dog owner is a responsible individual seeking to provide a healthy outlet for their dog’s energy and natural behavior. They understand and appreciate the critical developmental opportunity to gain social skills through interaction. From the at-home mom with kids to the two-income family with no kids or single adult, our clients want to furnish their dogs with the opportunity to be the very best dog with other dogs and people. Daycare benefits puppies throughout puppy hood. We help curb new puppy behavior, potty training, teething without destruction, and give them critically important socialization with other puppies and nice dogs. Adolescents are probably our biggest group. These are the terrible teens, the time when dogs need exercise and playtime most. Our playtime offers problem solving opportunities and new physical challenges with fun equipment during training time. A Typical Day at Daycare:Dogs can arrive for a play date as early as 7 a.m. They are placed in the appropriate pen for play where they run, romp, and engage with buddies. Most of their time is spent wrestling and chasing with their dog pals. We also have moments of training time in the pen with the dogs to help owners with their dogs impulse control, recalls, leash walking, and basic behaviors. At 11 am dogs are placed in crates for water (food if provided by owners) and a nap. After they are rested up, they are walked and ready to play again at 1pm. The dogs play until 4pm when they are placed in crates for a safe pick up. As happy as the dogs were to arrive in the morning, they’re equally pleased to greet their owners and go home. What could be better-a great day of friends and play and a relaxed evening at home for dog and “parents”. Introducing Dogs to Daycare:Our Daycare staff receives ongoing training to recognize, deal with, and eliminate issues before they become problems. The careful introduction of new dogs is part of this skill. Each new dog is evaluated prior to introduction into the group, and introduced to one or two at a time. Our staff watches out for the individual needs of every dog in our care. A sensitive dog needs slow acclimation to the group, staying with a smaller group at first. Others may rapidly become part of the larger play group. It’s up to the dog and his needs, temperament and personality. This is where the experience of our staff excels. Timid dogs are introduced at their own pace – in some cases, taking as long as two weeks to acclimate to the new environment. Energetic dogs need their drive directed to positive activities. We are constantly acknowledging and reinforcing positive play. Some dogs need more lap time and interaction with the humans. Hours and Requirements:Our Hours of Operation: Health Requirements: Dogs must be in good health. To ensure the health and safety of all our daycare dogs, owners must provide proof of current vaccinations, including Bordetella. The Bordetella vaccine protects against Tracheobronchitis, commonly known as ‘kennel cough’. Bordetella vaccines are required every 6 months. An evaluation is mandatory before their first daycare day; please call or email to set up a time. Please bring the following things with you to your evaluation: Daycare/Boarding Registration Form Reservations are required. To sign-up: |
